I just moved here from Florida and I was referred to Summerville Animal Hospital by a nurse I work with. My 6 year old Miniature Dachsund, Boomer had what appeared to by a cyst on his right paw. Being a nurse myself. I became concerned with the rapid growth of the lump I knew it wasnt a cyst! I was pretty sure it was a tumor. I called on my lunch break on friday and they worked him in the next day at 9:15. We were put in an exam room within 5 minutes. The Dr. exrayed Boomer and did a needle aspiration. She confirmed he had a cancerous Tumor. She showed us the exray and noted that his lungs looked good. He is scheduled for surgery on wednesday to have it removed (wait time was becasue of the holiday) The Dr. was very kind as I began to cry after hearing the new. Boomer is my baby! I will post an update after his surger. Please say a prayer. Thank-you, Julie
