Dr. Chiles is a New York City native and Harvard University graduate, who attended medical school at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He then completed his residency in neurosurgery, as well as a combined orthopedic-neurosurgical fellowship in complex spine surgery, both at New York University (NYU) Medical Center. He has performed over 2,000 operative procedures since entering practice in Westchester thirteen years ago..
Dr. Chiles currently serves as Chief of Neurosurgery at both Lawrence Hospital Center and Sound Shore Medical Center. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the New York University (NYU) Department of Neurosurgery, as well as a Clinical Professor of Neurosurgery at New York Medical College. He was certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery in 2002, and was named a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons in 2004. He is an active member of the New York State Neurosurgical Society, where he serves as both Secretary and as a member of the Board of Directors. Dr. Chiles has been included in the prestigious Best Doctors in America list since 2007.

I had spinal surgery with dr chilles earlier this year and although everything seems to have gone ok I found that he appeared to have very little interest in me after the surgery in the 3 follow up

I came to Dr. Chiles with years of chronic lower back pain and a previous failed lumbar fusion. He took my situation very seriously, going above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of properly.
