I had no issues with the office, location, staff, or Dr. Shields. I expect a short wait and it was no longer than any other Dr.s office I may visit. The staff were courteous and answered any questions I had. Dr. Shields himself was very forthright and upfront about his summary of my condition. He gave me options and also his opinion. I concurred with his assessment of my condition, especially at my age and the possibility of permanent nerve damage should I postpone surgery. He asks very informative questions about my lifestyle and was very thorough explaining what the procedure would entail and the best and worse case scenarios. No surgeon can guarantee 100 percent success. I choose Dr. Shields on his reputation and my first impression opinion of him. I choose right. You can't please everyone I suppose, but I didn't come to him for baby coddling or someone to hold my hand. I had a serious condition and I wanted as much of my former life back as could be achieved. He knows his job. So Thank You Dr. Shields for doing what you've spent a lifetime trying to achieve, helping people feel better.

Plan to stay for over a couple of hours, first they stick you in a checkIN room where you get your blood pressure and then you wait for over 1 hour. There are no television's, magazines or books to read while you are waiting to be seen. Then they move you to another room where you are seen by Mr. Shields. Apparently they do not teach medical students to type anymore, but rather speak into a microphone and then hunt and peck to correct every sentence because the microphone does not recognize the English language. No wonder he starts out ever day 2 hours behind schedule. And then to top it all off they validate our parking pass for 2 hours, we were there for 2.5 hours and I had no money and had to scramble around for PENNIES...... yes pennies.... By the time I left there I thought my central nervous system was going to shut down....heaven forbid i stay there for treatment.
