I have been a client of Walter Swinhoe for several years, both in one-on-one sessions, but mostly in group therapy. He recently helped me tremendously in an individual session, to overcome an insurmountable problem, or at least I thought it was. It was not! And the relief that I felt on leaving his office was a blessing.
But mostly I look forward to our weekly group sessions. One becomes very close to the other members of the group through these interactions, seeking help and providing support for our fellow "groupies". Dr Swinhoe (Walt) keeps us focused, provides feedback and validation but basically lets the group run the group, helping each other and learning about our own issues at the same time.
I would not hesitate to recommend Walter Swinhoe to anyone in need of counseling or help getting through difficult times. You feel like he is your friend, but never doubt that it is always on a professional level .

Walter made me understand myself and helped me work through my problems. He always remembered my earlier sessions. He will never know how much he has helped me and my family. When I have problems I will always go back to him. I will always refer him to other people that are having problems.

A great counselor. I have been to about 6 counselors during my lifetime, and he (Walter) gave me the most practical advice of any of them. He listens intently and offers suggestions that you can actually use. I am very happy with his service.

I wondered how he could remain in practice after losing license and being relieved of his duties at Taft Counseling Ctr. as Executive Director. Needs to find another calling.

Yes, I was completely ignored for a long time!

No, they are almost always unavailable

No, I didn't feel safe

Definitely not! I was constantly interrupted or cut off!

This provider's license was surrendered due to ongoing issues. He is known for unethical practices. I would not recommend him.
