i am ira m stein, md, faap, aaohns-board-certified, fellowship-trained pediatric ent/hns surgeon wishing to clarify a recent misunderstanding, based upon a micommunication, resulting in a poor evaluation of dr david brodner, an aaohns-board certified surgeon whose expertise is in rhinosinusology/obstructive sleep apnea. dr brodner is a nationally, highly regarded surgeon lecturing across the country, teaching other reputable ent surgeons re: most up-to-date technical advances in sinus surgery. i have been mentored and proctored by dr brodner. consequently, my patients have been able to benefit from a higher level of care. dr brodner has generously provided me with many hours of premium time and effort without ever having requested anything in return. dr brodner is a highly knowledgeable, superlative surgeon who demonstrates consistently respect for those he works with and great compassion and concern for his patients. i recommend dr brodner most highly without reservation.

VERY, VERY UNHAPPY WITH DR BRODNER!!! My son had to have extensive sinus surgery and he was scheduled to have it done by two Dr. s in the operating room, Dr. David Brodner and Dr. Ira Stein. The surgery was even rescheduled to accommodate Dr. Brodner's schedule. On the day of surgery we got there early, we saw Dr. Brodner there doing other surgeries and he was aware we were there although we did not talk to him (only visually saw him). Anyways, Dr. Brodner left my son in the surgicenter and took off. Dr. Stein (who is wonderful and I highly recommend) completed the surgery alone. The surgery was set us as a tag-team surgery because of the extent of the surgery. Dr. Brodner was called prior to surgery to see if and when he was going to come back however we were told he was seeing patients at his office and would not be returning. We were given the options to either reschedule (at this point my son had already been on IV fluids for over 2.5 hrs) or to just let Dr. Ira Stein continue and complete the entire surgery which he did. I can't tell you how not only unprofessional Dr. Brodner and his office were but what disregard he showed to my son (a minor child). Not only would I NOT recommend Dr. Brodner because of his lack of compassion and because of his disregard for patients. I would however highly recommend Dr. Ira Stein because he was wonderful (also an ENT).
