They always return my phone calls quickly. I always know that I'll get a prompt answer to my question. I thought their pricing was very fair. I have been to other places that charge an arm and a leg and I was happy to see that they weren't one of them. I was pleased that they were able to answer all of my questions. I left feeling very informed about pet care. They always dress so professionally here, the entire staff obviously makes an effort to look their best and maintain a very professional appearance. They went out of their way to make me feel special and respected, and were very sympathetic to my situation. I've never seen more kindness and empathy anywhere else.

I was satisfied with both the Dr. Vardeman and how my pet's appointment went. I had to wait a while after I arrived for my appointment, but I think that's because Dr. V is great and so reasonably priced. If the wait is a problem, and it's important to have your pet worked in that day, I have been able to drop my dog(s) off in the morning and come back to pick them up later in the day. They offer the best pricing in the area, and while the front desk staff aren't overly warm and fuzzy, they do take care of the details of the visit.

CAlled for a price on spaying two female labs. I was quoted $340.00. I confirmed this included everything including meds etc. I was assured it did. i scheduled the surgery. The week before the surgery, I called to confirm the price. They confirmed. When I picked up the dogs, I was told the bill would be $560.00. After some calm discussion, they deleted charges for shots that they had already given one of the dogs and was not authorized to give. after deleting other non autorized and removing a perscription for anti biotics from the bag, they came up with a final of $460.00 or $120.00 over the price they gave me on the phone. To avoid a scene, I paid the amount and wrote a letter to Dr. Vardeman when I got home, mailing it to him personal and confidential. The letter explained the situation...Unfortunately, either Dr. Vardeman lacked the decency to answer my letter, or his staff never let him see it.
The desk person offered up my dogs were internally overweight. I called another vet who advised me Labradors have fat deposits which insulate thei interals while in the water. Normal for the breed and it should have been allowed for in the initial pice.
My pets have received good care when visiting his office the last 3 times, and I have no doubt Dr. Vardeman is one of the best. Just don't trust how much his staff says it will cost, or be prepared to pay twice what they bid.

If you care about your animal at all, don't take them to Hiawassee Animal Hospital. I have a dog with cancer and he is suffering a lot. I inquired with the hospital about euthanasia and told to be in the office by 11:40am. I was there at 11:45 and was refused service by Karen. This was on a Saturday, so there were no other options for me except in Blue Ridge, which cost twice as much and I couldn't afford it. This place has no compassion at all for animals.
