My 92 year old friend was admitted yesterday. I have called 4 times to speak to her and also wanted an update from staff. This place seems to be unable to do that. They can transfer you to phones that don't answer and they can hang up on you without saying anything, but they cant connect you. I do not like other reviews I have read on line about this place but they sure seem right to give this place a BELOW AVERAGE rating.

My Mom, Elizabeth, was in Manor Care Palm Desert for the last 4 months of her life. She suffered from Diabetes, Congestive Heart Failure, Alzheimers and Dementia. It was very hard for our family to finally realize we could no longer provide the care that she required. My daughter and I visited Manor Care and were pleasantly surprised at what we found. We left there feeling positive and comfortable with our decision. We visited several other long term care facilities in valley and confidently went back to Manor Care. From the very start my mother was treated with dignity and concern. Not only did they provide outstanding care to my Mom but to my Father who sat at her bedside every day. From the Nurses, to the Nursing Assistants, to the Physical Therapists to Speech Therapists to everyone treated her with compassion and respect. We eventually were put in contact with Odyssey Hospice which was a godsend. They were nurturing, comforting and we felt completely at ease knowing that she had this added level of care during her last weeks.

My Mother passed on March 10 and our entire family is grateful to all the staff from administration to maintenance that helped to make our mothers stay her home away from home.
