I had great experiences here. During exams and cleanings I was told what they were doing and why, they were helpful with financial questions, and welcoming in general. Good experience every time, will continue to use as my primary dental care provider.

My young daughter and I haven been to this dentist for 3 years now. The doctors are kind and professional and the hygienists are always very patient and good with my daughter. They are thorough but do not recommend unnecessary treatments. The office is clean, the front desk staff is friendly and generally everything is very satisfactory.

If you choose this dentist, it will be the worst mistake you've ever made in your entire life. I had several fillings done and one crown on a front tooth. The crown never looked right, but I'm generally not a picky person, so I attributed it to the newness of the tooth. This dentist gave me an overall weird feel, so I went to someone new in Athens about a year later when my teeth were very sensitive. The new dentist told me the crown was not a good quality crown and did not fit properly. I was told to go back and have them check it. I delayed since I dislike the McRae office so much, and today my crown broke off as I ate a sandwich. Not only did the crown break, but the pole broke off at the base of the gum.  I called to see if they could see me around 3pm on a Friday, and I was told they were getting ready to go home. The receptionist was incredibly rude and did not seem concerned about my pain at all. She just seemed to want to go home. I practically begged to see the dentist for a quick look and the answer was no. They offered to call in some pain medicine to my pharmacy if I would find the telephone number and call them back. At the very least, could they find the number on the computer I hear typing in the background? I called another dentist in Athens who closes at 2pm, and he was very concerned and friendly and waited an hour after closing to see me at no charge. I will need an oral surgeon from this point, and McRae's office has told me they will not pay for anything I do outside their office even though it was their work, they would not see me, and I was in pain. I have never written a negative review of anything in my life, so please trust this review and save yourself heartache. Do not trust your only set of teeth to these people.

I chose Dr. McRae because he was in network, and was one of the only providers without a negative review.

Today, I remedy him not having negative reviews.

The office is incredibly disorganized. I had an 8:30 am appointment. In spite of being one of the first patients, it took about 45 minutes before I was seen. The staff didn't seem to notice or care about the unduly long wait. The waiting room's atmosphere wasn't that pleasant.

The dentist said I needed a follow-up appointment one week later. For the morning follow up, I waited ONE HOUR AND FORTY MINUTES with the staff telling me periodically "just a few more minutes." After this wait, the dentist said that he wasn't licensed to perform the treatment my appointment was for.

They asked if I would like to come back! I said no thanks, I would rather find another dentist.

I went to an out of network dentist for the follow-up work that Dr. McRae prescribed. The new dentist consulted with another staff dentist at his office, and then consulted with an oral surgeon. The consensus between the three new dentists was that Dr. McRae's follow up procedure was not necessary.

Yes folks, Dr. McRae was that bad.
