I have searched for years to find a doctor who is willing to respect my wishes about my health issues. I have finally found her! Dr. Stephanie Hawhorne is an excellent listener. She has had thousands of patients with my same disease, so understands all the different approaches much better than I do. I can learn much from her, without giving up my strong feelings to "be kind to my body", meaning no toxic drugs! She explained many issues so that I could understand the reasoning behind the treatments.

By all means avoid this doctor. Initially, I thought she was okay. But once she started getting patients, she turned nasty. Her only interest in me appeared to be to do a colonoscopy and endoscopy. Because she could make some money. She hardly listens to you. Always in rush. Has terrible staff. She is disorganized. Please avoid this doctor.

If you have gastro problems in Flagstaff, you are better off just going down to Phoenix and seeing a good gastro doctor (there are plenty there). In Flagstaff it is hard to get an appointment for Gastro issues and when you get, you get a doctor like Stephanie Hawthrone.

I've never seen a provider look so unprofessional. They obviously do not care about their appearance here because they looked like slobs. I was somewhat uneasy during my appointment. I was never able to fully relax. I was glad that they were located in a safe neighborhood. I've been to some other places where I was scared to get out of my car but not here. One thing that disappointed me about this office was their waiting room. The chairs were horrible-cheap and plastic. When comparing them to others in their field, I would say they are by far the worst I have ever seen. I will never return.

Dr. Hawthrone came in as a new Gatro doctor for Flagstaff about 2 years back. She did a great job initially. I started seeing her about the time she came. But, my recent 2 visits show that she is totally overwhelmed, understaffed and everything about her is rushed and confusing. First, she does not find my latest lab results and when I point them, she finally gets them. She has no time to read them. Then she hardly has time to listen and\or discuss. She is virtually running around. Her staff appeared to me untrained, de-motivated. Doctors need to care for their patients and spend spend with them during appointments. She has become a run of the mill doctor. I am really sorry to say this. But, Flagstaff has shortage of Gasto doctors and they all have problem from the time of giving appointment. It is a nightmare even to get a appointment. I need routine checks and last time she made me feel why I was there. What a mess!!!. I was disappointed that their staff didn't seem to respect them very much. They weren't disrespectful but I could tell they didn't have a very good relationship. The staff didn't seem to know a whole lot about the company they worked for. Every single time I'd ask them a question, they'd refer me to someone else. It was very frustrating. They are always polite and never use foul language, which I really appreciate. It's always made me uncomfortable at other places when I've heard them use foul language, but they don't here. I know I can bring my kids, and not worry about it. It seemed like they were trying to rush my appointment and were annoyed to be helping me. It was obvious that they wanted to be somewhere else. One thing that disappointed me about this office was their waiting room. The chairs could have been a lot more comfortable.
