Apr. 19--Bliss Relay for Life raises money to fight cancer
The El Paso public is invited to join in the Fort Bliss Relay for Life, a 24-hour cancer fundraiser, from 7 p.m. April 30 to 7 p.m. May 1 at the Stout Gym track on post.
The event will begin by remembering loved ones and celebrating survivors. The fundraiser will include music, food, entertainment, camping and walking. Survivors will share their stories throughout the night.

Back pain information
A discussion on back pain will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Northeast YMCA, 5509 Will Ruth.
It's free, part of the Las Palmas Medical Center Health Seminar Series.

The benefits of early detection will be discussed during an Alzheimer's conference from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 29 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 7000 Edgemere.
The event is for social workers, health-care professionals and family caregivers.

--Free blood-sugar screenings will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Del Sol Diabetes Treatment Center, 10555 Vista Del Sol, Suite 100. People should eat a regular lunch two hours before their screenings. Information: 595-1645.
