Tylenol liquid for children is recalled

WASHINGTON, Sep 24, 2009 (UPI via COMTEX) -- McNeil Consumer Healthcare -- the
maker of Tylenol -- is recalling certain lots of children's and infants' Tylenol
liquid products.

The company said it's recalling children's and infants' Tylenol liquid
manufactured between April and June. An examination of one of the inactive
ingredients showed it did not meet internal testing requirements.

Officials said the recall does not apply to children's Tylenol Meltaways or
Junior Strength Tylenol Meltaways. The voluntary recall applies only to specific
lots of children's and infants' Tylenol liquid products, the company said.

Consumers with the recalled products or with questions can contact the company
at 800-962-5357.

The company said parents and caregivers who have given the product to their
child or infant and have concerns should contact their child's healthcare
provider.

The recalled lot numbers -- located on the bottom of the box containing the
product and also on the sticker that surrounds the product bottle -- are
