DR Congo reports first swine flu case

The Democratic Republic of Congo Saturday reported its first swine flu case, a South African mining official based in the country's mineral-rich southeast.

The man was employed by a US mining firm in the Katanga province, provincial health minister Prosper Kabila told AFP.

"The man just returned from South Africa from holidays. He is under treatment. He is in good health, he is speaking and eating," he said, adding that nobody in his family was affected by the A(H1N1) virus.
