FLEMINGTON, N.J., Jul 30, 2009 (UPI via COMTEX) -- American doctors' level of
concern over H1N1 flu has steadily increased in the past month, a survey of 670
physicians indicates.
The survey was conducted by HCD Research July 26 to gauge physicians'
perceptions of the swine flu virus, and the potential risk and impact it will
have on their lives. Physicians indicate their level of concern weekly regarding
the impact the H1N1 flu outbreak has on them and their families.
Thirty-eight percent of the physicians say they are somewhat concerned about
swine flu, 15 percent are concerned and 12 percent are extremely concerned. Last
week, 33 percent said they were somewhat concerned about H1N1 flu, 15 percent
said they were concerned and 12 percent said they were extremely concerned.
Fifty-seven percent of physician respondents say they feel the extensive media
coverage of the outbreak is appropriate, while 36 percent of physicians report
there has been too much coverage and 7 percent say there has not been enough.
