Swine flu claims 5th in Suffolk

A Babylon, LI, woman over the weekend became the fifth person in Suffolk County to die of swine flu.

Suffolk officials yesterday said the woman was 55 to 65 years old and had "multiple underlying medical problems."

She was diagnosed with the H1N1 virus on June 23 and died Saturday, according to County Health Commissioner Dr. Humayun Chaudhry.

Most of Suffolk's 136 confirmed cases of swine flu have recovered or are recovering, officials added.
