Medical pot now home-delivered

SAN FRANCISCO, Jul 1, 2009 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Medical marijuana has become so
much a part of life in California that some suppliers make home deliveries.

Kevin Reed told the San Jose Mercury News he decided to operate a delivery
service after two attempts at storefront clinics fizzled because nearby
residents or business owners did not like the idea. He operates Green Cross out
of his San Francisco apartment but does not have to worry that customers
dropping in all day will annoy his neighbors.

Green Cross gets high marks from customers in online reviews.

"Drivers are clean-cut, professional, and bring your goods in a discreet

white paper bag," one wrote on Yelp.

"Like ordering a pizza, but, of course, much better," wrote another.

Green Cross, which takes credit cards and offers a discount if the goods are
late, is believed to be the largest of the delivery services. Some storefronts
will also make deliveries.

Marijuana remains illegal under federal law. But the Obama administration has
said it will not prosecute any legitimate suppliers who obey state laws.
