JERUSALEM, Jun 16, 2009 (UPI via COMTEX) -- American teenagers participating in
the Birthright Israel program were diagnosed with swine flu while touring
Israel, The Jerusalem Post reported.
The paper reported Tuesday eighteen soldiers who were in contact with 15 teens
in the program also came down with the virus but already have been released from
the hospital.
The teens are expected to make a full recovery and are expected to be released
from the hospital soon, the report said,
Greg Harnage of California told the Post he fell sick while touring,
experiencing a runny nose and fever.
It is unclear how the teens contracted the virus, the report said, noting they
all took the same plane to Israel, stayed in the same hotels, traveled in the
same buses and visited the same sites.
The Israel National News Web site said the number of people infected with the
H1N1 virus in Israel has reached 117.
