PRINCETON, N.J., May 26, 2009 (UPI via COMTEX) -- A Gallup Poll suggests U.S.
adults who exercise for 30 minutes at least two days per week feel more rested
and have more energy than those who don't.
Those benefits tend to increase slightly with each additional day of exercise,
but peak when a person exercises for 30 minutes six days per week, Gallup said
of those interviewed for the poll released Tuesday.
Of those interviewed, 27 percent reported getting 30 minutes of exercise
five or more days per week, with 24 percent getting at least 30 minutes of
exercise on three or four of the last seven days.
Nearly half of those interviewed reported exercising for at least 30 minutes
less than three days per week, Gallup said.
For the poll, Gallup analyzed more than 400,000 interviews conducted with adults
from May 2008 to April 2009. The poll had a margin of error of 1 percentage
point.
