Kids' short lives

A Harvard study done in India found that children born to short women were 70 percent more likely to die before age 5 than those born to taller mothers.

Those whose mothers were shorter than 4-foot-9 were 70 percent more likely to die by age 5 than those whose mothers were at least 5-foot-3, said the study in the Journal of the AMA.
