Grilling sauce recalled for health hazard

WASHINGTON, Apr 13, 2009 (UPI via COMTEX) -- The U.S. Food and Drug
Administration announced a nationwide recall of Olde Cape Cod-brand grilling
sauce because of a health hazard.

The FDA said Olde Cap Cod Foods of Ayer, Maine, is voluntarily recalling the
"Old Cape Cod Sweet & Bold Grilling Sauce" because it contains trace amounts of
an undeclared seafood allergen -- anchovy. People who have an allergy or severe
sensitivity to seafood allergen run the risk of a serious or life-threatening
allergic reaction if they consume the product.

Code dates being recalled are up to, but not including, "Apr 10 10" (April 10,
2010).

The product was distributed from March 2008 through April 2009 to retail stores
across the nation.

Consumers with questions can contact the company at 800-720-2246, extension 206.
