NY 'nut' toll: 21

A peanut-linked health crisis that has sickened 550 people nationwide and is being blamed for killing another eight has left 21 New Yorkers ill, state officials said yesterday.

Although none was in New York City, the outbreaks of peanut-related salmonella include one case in Nassau County and two in Suffolk. The scare started last month.
