Five ways to boost your immune system

I'm pretty sure half of my office is out with the bubonic plague.

They could just be burning end-of-the-year sick days. But, still, I'm not taking any risks.

That's why I'm doing the following five things to boost my germ-fighting power:

1. Drinking green tea. Seemingly touted to cure everything from cancer to ingrown fingernails, green tea is also said to boost your immunity. Some studies even suggest it may kill flu viruses.

2. Eating yogurt. The probiotics found in yogurt will keep your tummy calm, experts say.

3. Taking vitamins. A little extra insurance can't hurt.

4. Washing my hands. Always wash yours hands, because they are the main spreaders of disease. Sing "Happy Birthday" while you do it. Use soap.

5. Relaxing. Take a warm bath. A nap. Our bodies respond to our emotions so if you're feeling sad or anxious, you are more apt to get a sore throat or a cold. When you're happy, you're far less likely to get sick.
