WASHINGTON - Measles-related deaths fell 74 percent this decade, thanks to a UN-led effort to vaccinate kids in Africa and other hard-hit regions, health officials said yesterday.
There were an estimated 750,000 measles deaths in 2000, the year before the initiative began, but only 197,000 in 2007, the World Health Organization and its partners reported.
