Booze cancer risk


Alcohol appears to increase the risk of certain common stomach and esophageal cancers, Dutch researchers reported yesterday.

Their study, presented at an American Association for Cancer Research meeting in Washington, found that people who consumed four glasses of alcohol each day had five times the risk of developing the cancers as did nondrinkers.
