Children's metal necklaces are recalled

WASHINGTON, Feb 25, 2008 (UPI via COMTEX) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety
Commission announced a voluntary recall of about 2,900 Chinese-made children's
metal necklaces due to a health hazard.

The CPSC said the necklaces, imported by the Pecoware Co. Inc. of Chino, Calif.,
contain high levels of lead.

The recalled necklaces include a cat with silver and pink rhinestones, a heart
and lock with pink rhinestones, a silver colored heart with a rhinestone crown,
and a silver colored lock and key. The necklaces hang from silver-colored
chains.

The cat necklaces were sold nationwide from January 2006 through July 2007, with
the others sold from July 2007 through November 2007 for about $13.

Consumers can contact Pecoware at 800-456-7326 for instructions on returning the
necklaces for a full refund.
