REGINA - Children who need to see a pediatric neurologist in Saskatchewan may have to be sent elsewhere because of a doctor shortage.
One of two pediatric neurologists in the province will soon leave.
Health Minister Dustin Duncan says health officials are trying to fill a couple of vacancies for pediatric neurologists, noting that another doctor left about 1 1/2 years ago.
Duncan says it's a speciality that's hard to fill.
He says there aren't a lot of medical school training seats for pediatric neurology across Canada.
Duncan says urgent cases will be treated, but other children may have to be sent to Alberta if doctors can't be found.
