Health Tip: Exercise in Cold Weather

(HealthDay News) -- Before you head out into the cold to exercise, make sure you're wearing enough layers.

The American Council on Exercise offers these suggestions:

  • Wear a hat to help your body retain heat.
  • Wear clothing that helps trap air but pulls moisture away from the body.
  • Avoid materials made of tightly woven fabrics or heavy cotton.
  • Keep your hands and feet warm with gloves and socks.
