Obstetrics and gynecology deals with disorders of a womans reproductive system. An obstetrician/gynecologist is sometimes a primary physician for women. The gynecologist treats women and their reproductive systems, but is also concerned with womens menstrual problems, disorders of pelvic organs, infertility, or cancer of the reproductive organs. Some tests a gynecologist will order or administer are blood tests, a vaginal swab, or X-rays or ultrasound of the pelvic region. An obstetrician can be a gynecologist, and the two practices are closely related.
The obstetrician deals with problems of the woman and fetus during pregnancy and childbirth, and can act as a consultant to other physicians regarding the care of a patient. An obstetrician will see a pregnant woman regularly to check on her health and progress of her pregnancy. Risk factors in a pregnancy include the mothers diabetes, a previous pregnancy complication, high blood pressure, or heart disease, and will require an obstetrician to check on a womans condition more often.

I've visited this Dr. twice. First time she was a kind plastic person. My problem wasn't resolved as I expect. First she asked to do a mammogram but didn't even mention about ultrasound; the lady from the lab did it anyway. She got the results and called me saying that was okay, said that my problem would go away without medication but it didn't . I had to schedule another appointment 2 weeks later because my issue was still bothering me. She prescribed medication, didn't ask anything again, very plastic person, not friendly at all. The medication that she prescribed didn't work, I still having problem. Looking for another gynecologist to help me.The nurse who works with her is adorable, very professional and kind.
