At times we all need extra support and help with overcoming difficulties.
I am a holistic psychotherapist with over 10 years experience working primarily with young people in their 20s and 30s struggling with eating disorders and related issues. Through this work, I recognize that one size does not fit all. I tailor my clinical approach to fit the unique needs and strengths of each individual; looking at the entire person, rather than a disorder or label.
My professional and personal journey have led me to blend Western Psychology and Eastern Philosophy practices, mindfulness, neuroscience, compassion, breath and bodywork, music and the creative healing arts when appropriate.
In a safe, warm, and nurturing environment, I work with individuals, couples and families dealing with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, sex and relationship issues. I tend to think outside the box and use a gentle, engaged, interactive, collaborative, and creative approach.
With deep respect and trust for the process that occurs for each client throughout their journey in therapy, I have made the conscious decision to limit the number of clients I see on a daily basis. This helps me be as present, attentive and focused as possible on each client during the unfolding of every session and at times between sessions. There is also the benefit of heightened confidentiality since clients will rarely meet one another in the waiting area.
I received my graduate degree from New York University, and have additional post-graduate psychotherapy training from The William Alanson White Institute, New York, NY. I am a Licensed practitioner (LPC) in the State of Pennsylvania and hold a national board certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC).
My training and employment history include Council for Relationships, Drexel University, West Chester University, Mount Sinai Medical Center, Bellevue Medical Center, Hackensack University Medical Center, Montefiore Medical Center, The Juilliard School, The Renfrew Center, The Creative Therapies Institute, and Performance Wellness, Inc. I am currently affiliated with American Association for Sexuality Educators Counselors and Therapists (AASECT), the American Music Therapy Association, Psychology Today, New York Academy of Sciences, American Counseling Association, National Eating Disorders Association, and Certification Board of Music Therapists.
