The psychiatrist that my daughter was seeing was quite strange, but my daughter was still happy to have someone to talk to & it really helped us out that they provided free services while my husband was out of work & we had no medical insurance.

It would've worked better if any of the medicines she tried to put my daughter on where covered under the North Star program. Everytime she tried, it was denied by the program, so the only thing my daughter could ever take was anti-anxiety medicine. Although that helped a little, she really needed the ADHD medicine, which was quite expensive.

In all fairness to the clinic, and I've gone there off and on since 2009,(due to circumstances) its the best place I've ever been to. I've talked to just about everybody down there and I always get treated like I'm important to them because I am. I check myself in to Green Oaks for evaluation without hesitation if I know I'm not doing well. If a Doc has to suggest that you go there, then u r missing their point, which is hey, u need some extra help that they can't give you with an hour a month. So go somewhere else. Drs and nurses, I find, are very kind and compassionate to me when I'm in trouble. And especially at Green Oaks. These people aren't your mom or dad or family. They are just doing the very bed that they can do. So lighten up and take a look at yourself. We are mentally ill, not them. I love the Alma Center staff. I think.yall are being waytoo hard on them. They are the cream.of the crop to me.
