I went to see kathy vorheees at therapeutic colaborative for anxiety problems and hoping that she could help me deal with all the overwhelming problems going on in my life. My first visit felt more like a interogation and all she did was constantly accuse me of being a alcoholic because of a few past problems with alcohol which I DO NOT have a alcohol problem anymore but this is all kathy would focus on. I insisted I do not have a alcohol problem anymore and I have not drank for months and she called me a liar and said that's bullshit. How unprofessional to call your patient a liar and curse at them? Needless to say I stopped seeing kathy after my second visit where we acomplished nothing but arguing in her office for our 45 minute session. Please heed my advise and do not select kathy for any sort of councleing. She is a very unpleasant person. You have been warned!

My child has been seeing Cathy Voorhees for about 6 months dealing with abuse issues. She has been very inconsistent with her recommendations, care and what she is telling me to do at home. She has even advised me to violate a court order. It takes numerous phone calls and weeks to get feedback and to schedule follow up appointments. Her attitude is inconsiderate, and confusing. The first sign of issues was on our first visit she had requested to keep all of my legal paperwork so she could make copies, but when we returned for a second visit she had no idea what I was talking about. Then she had requested little to no contact with the other parent, but a few sessions later is acting like I have done something wrong for not involving them more. Her letters to the court appointed representation have been very difficult to interpret. It's very hard to get a straight professional opinion from her because of all the inconsistencies with her care and recommendations. It's been a hard time for everyone involved and she has not been able to shed light on anything. I feel like I never know what to expect from her, one month she seems very supportive, then another she's telling me that everything I have done is wrong. She interrupted me when I was sharing my concerns with her about ongoing abuse and said she didn't want to discuss these things with my child. Not sure if she is really looking out for the best interest of the patient, or just can't handle her work load. If you do see her I would suggest taking notes or recoding what she says, just in case she forgets what she is telling you, it seems to happen a lot.
