Dr. Judy Raabe is an extremely smart, skilled, caring, thoughtful, and dedicated therapist. I am a Clinical Psychologist who has been practicing in Ithaca for over 10 years. For the past 6-7 years, I have participated in a professional peer consultation group with Dr. Raabe and several other highly respected therapists in town.

Through the years of participating in these professional groups with Dr. Raabe, I have come to know her clinical work well. I am continually impressed with her depth of knowledge and experience, her insightfulness about her clients and ours, her tremendous caring and empathy, her ability to be both gentle and gently challenging, and her facility in using both active/ directive therapeutic strategies as well as more receptive/exploratory strategies, depending on her clients’ needs.

When my caseload is full and I need to make a referral, Dr. Raabe is the first name I give. I know that Dr. Raabe will provide excellent care and that any client who works with her will be in highly skilled, caring, wise, and impeccably ethical hands.

It seemed like she was trying to rush my appointment and was annoyed to be helping me. It was obvious that they wanted to be somewhere else. Whenever I go, I usually have to remind her why I'm there and what my situation is. They should at least take notes during my appointment or something so I don't have to constantly re-explain myself. She took personal calls during several of my appointments yet still charged me for the full time (without extending time for me).
I would not recommend her as a therapist.

Not very well. I had to really look for it before I found it.

No, they've never taken personal calls with me
