Services Individual Psychotherapy
Individual therapy or psychotherapy involves meeting with a therapist one-on-one for 45-50 min/session for the purpose of reducing internal suffering which may occur in the form of problematic behaviors, beliefs, feelings, and somatic responses (sensations in the body). In addition, ongoing psychotherapy is a common and useful means of self-growth and self-actualization for many people. Therapy can help people to confront barriers which interfere with emotional and mental well-being. Many people enjoy therapy and relish the journey of becoming more conscious about themselves, their inner world, and their relationships. Therapy may help to increase positive feelings such as joy, compassion, peace, self-esteem, spiritual connection, and love.

Couples & Family Therapy
The focus of couples therapy is to identify the presence of dissatisfaction and distress in the relationship, and to devise and implement a treatment plan with objectives designed to improve or alleviate the presenting symptoms and restore the relationship to a better and healthier level of functioning. Couples therapy can assist persons who are having complaints of intimacy, sexual, and communication difficulties.

Grief & Loss Support Group
The single most important factor in healing from loss is having the support of other people. Even if you aren’t comfortable talking about your feelings under normal circumstances, it’s important to express them when you’re grieving. Sharing your loss makes the burden of grief easier to carry. Wherever the support comes from, accept it and do not grieve alone. Connecting to others will help you heal.

Gay Men's Intimacy Group
An "intimacy group" for gay men provides a "safe place" to begin exploring different ways of relating to other gay men. It offers an opportunity to develop more genuine connections, to give and receive honest feedback with other gay men and to explore the unique defenses and survival mechanisms which may interfere with the development of more meaningful and fulfilling relationships. Intimacy groups can offer an environment to discuss the emotional, social, sexual and interpersonal experiences of growing up as a gay boy, adolescent and man that may have been hurtful, difficult or humiliating. Groups with other gay men provide an opportunity to learn and practice relationship and social skills and to overcome the anxiety of authentically expressing oneself with other gay men. Intimacy groups often challenge our fears of rejection that may inhibit our genuine expression with other men, whether gay or straight. To avoid facing our fears empowers that which we are afraid of. To "move into fear" is to conquer and master it.

Been in therapy on/off over the years. Have been very pleased working with Kevin for the last 8 months. I find his style to be warm and engaging. I am appreciative of the feedback that he's given me over the last few months. I would strongly recommend him as a therapist. Thank you, Kevin!

My husband and I met with Dr. Convers for 8 months for weekly couples therapy and he helped us improve our communication styles. We used bibliotherapy, mirroring techniques and learned how to forgive each other to reach our goals. I am happy we had the opportunity to work with Dr. Convers and would strongly encourage anyone who is looking for couples therapy to contact him!! :)
