Just some more information that I thought those who are seeking help from this organization and any mental health organization should know. Especially for those who have been diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar and other mental health disorders. First before going to a shrink or psychiatrist you should read these books and articles for your personal benefit. Reasons why are explained with each book or article.

1. National Geographic (February 2014 edition, The New Science of the Brain): This is an important article for anyone diagnosed with "deginerative brain diseases" such as bipolar and schizophrenia and are on prescription drugs. This article basically states that with the most modern scientific brain imaging equipment today medical "experts" still cannot determine the difference between a brain with schizophrenia and a "normal brain." How can their be no observable difference if that is the first thing patients are told before they are put on dangerous prescription medication for mental "disease?"

2. Your Drug May Be Your Problem: How and Why to Stop Taking Psychiatric Medications by Peter R. Breggin MD and David Cohen Ph. D.: This book was updated in 07 or 04 but is an excellent book for those who have been put on drugs for mental disease and the side effects are worse than the actual mental disorder. Most people who try to get off their prescriptions don't know how and that messes them up. This book shows you how. The Author also has a website and you can find help on Youtube from other individuals who have and are going through the same process.

3. Rethinking Madness by Paris Williams Ph D: This book shows you the evidence of how dangerous and unbeneficial prescription drugs and the psychiatric process can be. It basically shows that for most people who are not put on prescription drugs that they fair much better than the victims who are put on them.

This is the last time I will post anymore info but I hope this has been of help to you. I think people should be more informed about the psychiatric business and what their mental help options are before they make a descission. Just educate yourself and read. Dr. Viktor E. Frankl in his book, Man's Search for Meaning, discussed how people could find therapy just by reading. Give that a try first atleast.

Hey, just thought if anyone who is reading and thinking about seeking psychological that they should first check out some books first. Yes, before you seek mental help from the professionals you should read these books first before you loose 10 years of your life on prescription drugs that will only make you obese, less active, a target for employers who don't want to hire mental illness patients on drugs, and more of a reck then you were before but still put yourself through the misery of prescription drugs because "the doctor must be right." Right?
1. The Art of Living by Epictetus (classical greek advice on living the good life)
2. The Spiritual Gift of Madness: the failure of psychiatry and the Rise of the Mad Pride Movement by Seth Farber, Ph. D.
3. Rethinking Madness by Paris Williams, Ph. D.
4. The Art of Worldly Wisdom by Baltasar Gracian
5. Man's Search for Meaning by Dr. Viktor E. Frankl

I wish I had been directed to these books earlier but maybe they can be of use to you. Your not crazy! Life for most is hard. Start making lemonade out of the lemon of life.
