Training Dr. Salas is originally from Mexico and completed medical school at the Universidad Autonoma de Cuidad Juarez in Chiuhuahua, Mexico. Following her residency at Jacobi Medical Center in New York, she completed a fellowship in endocrinology at the University of Maryland. Dr. Salas gained extensive experience with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes at the University of Maryland's Joslin Diabetes Center, part of an elite group of affiliated centers that has been the nation's leader in diabetes research, treatment and education since its founding in 1898. She conducted clinical research at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in NYC and at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, examining the effects of bariatric surgery on the resolution of diabetes.

They made sure that their qualifications were obvious. I was confident that I was under the care of a professional. I would 100% recommend them to people. I was happy with their care and satisfied with the results. I felt that they really valued my health and happiness because they followed up even after my appointment just to check up on me. It was such a nice gesture that made a huge difference. She was concerned with my Bone Density, asked me to submit my outside previous results, by email, and followed up with a reassuring phone call within the hour. Very effective provider.
