Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend this doctor to my friends or family, especially since Dr. Koren no longer lives in Colorado! I was referred to this office by my allergist, who said this was the only endocrinologist in town she would refer me to. I had to wait several MONTHS to get an initial appointment and was excited about someone finally helping me find some answers. That didn't happen. Dr. Koren basically blew me off, said he couldn't do anything for me and he "pretty much only treats diabetics" (mine was thyroid and hormone related), and further told me that he was moving back east (this was last Thanksgiving - 2013) and I wouldn't be seeing him again. Fine with me. However, I gave the office another chance a few months later with Mr. Perez (not sure if he's a PA, NP, or what). Mr. Perez gave me as much time as I needed and was more helpful, but the office overall seems to be going downhill. Not many patients were coming through the door, and the ONLY medical type person I've seen around the past two visits has been Mr. Perez. It feels kind of like a ghost town. The whole place is rather dated and the only other office on the same floor is a welfare type medical clinic and lab. Front desk staff was OK but they were obviously frustrated that none of their computers, printers, etc. were in sync or working properly. I'd have to say "three strikes and you're out." I've been there three times so far and will be seeking out another endocrinology practice, so that would be a thumbs down for me.

The office and staff aren't bad by any means and both the nurse (Mr. Perez) and the staff were accommodating with my financial situation by spacing out the frequency of appointments and even so, helped me adjust to an insulin pump and my A1C is much lower than when I first went in.

That being said, something just didn't "click" with Mr. Perez and I ended up feeling increasingly uncomfortable coming into the office until I stopped going. Objectively, he is good at his job, but subjectively I did not personally feel comfortable continuing to go to him as my endo.
