My daughter went there a few nights ago intending to be voluntarily admitted because she was suicidal. It was like something out of Kafka. Here's how the admissions interview with a smirking RN went:

RN: Do you want to stay here? You can leave, you know.
She: i want to see a doctor.
RN: There are no doctors here.
She: What? it's a hospital.
RN: There are no doctors here because it's nighttime. You could go to county services.
She: When could i see one?
RN: You can only see one if you're admitted. Do you want to be admitted?
She: But when are they here?
RN: It depends.
She: On what?
RN: On the doctor.
She: When does the earliest one come in?
RN: It depends.

We left. The RN was pretty satisfied with himself for having won the encounter.

I was hospitalized here when I was 16 and was held for a week. I met with my social worker once, the day I was released. My "doctor" diagnosed me with bipolar II after having spoken to me once. They took me off my medication cold turkey and I suffered withdrawal symptoms. I got absolutely no help at all, and the psych tech's idea of "help" only worsened my situation.There was a lot of writing on the walls ("help me", "i want to die", etc), and the shower was a breeding ground for mold. Additionally, once I was released they refused to cooperate with our insurance after they said they would upon intake. Please don't take your child here under any circumstances.
