I go here occasionally to get a prescription filled when my usual pharmacy is out of my medication . Today when I went they quoted me a price of $66 for my prescription that usually costs ~$18.00 at Rite Aid. I asked if my insurance had covered it and they said no. The pharmacist told me that insurances had changed what they were paying and drug prices had changed. I called my insurance provider (from the number on the back of the card) and spoke to a representative. She looked up the claim and told me that they did cover the prescription and that on her end it was showing a cost for me of $18.56. I told the pharmacist this and he proceeded to tell me that they couldn't sell me my prescription for that price even though they are an in-network pharmacy for my insurance agency. He said they weren't being reimbursed sufficiently. The woman on the phone with me said they were supposed to charge $18.56 because of their agreement with the insurance company. Needless to say I left and took my script to Walmart and they charged me ~$16.00. I won't be going back to Economy Drug and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else unless you like being lied to and over wildly overcharged.
