LGAR is a terrible place.......Please beware. The administration is unprofessional, incompetent, negligent and outright disrespectful and rude. They lied to us about what we could expect. Once my 96 year old Mother was admitted everything changed. they force the residents to be corralled at the Nurses station against their will. When residents ask to be taken to their rooms or the bathroom, they are told staff is busy. You can see aides and staff congregating, talking and not working complaining about their jobs while the residents suffer. They have a high fall rate so this is how they deal with it, holding the residents hostage for hours on end in their wheelchairs. I have never seen such lazy people. Unfortunately there were a few good nurses but you can tell they are not happy with their administration. They kick people out if they ask questions and question their incompetencies. The state and county are aware.
Had a family member there under hospice care. Ask for a private room, was told there was no rooms. Ask about changing rooms, was told they could not do that. Facility had 1 bedroom rooms. My family member and my family were not given privacy. My family member was in a small room with a roommate making nasty comments. Then the roommate would blast the tv while in the room. Every time the channel on the tv was changed my family member would be startled, their body would shake and the person would wake up. Also had to yell to be able to talk tobthe family member. With all the noise in the room you could not hear the family member speakOnly two people could sit at a time. The rest of the visitors have to stand shoulder to shoulder. They allowed my family member spend their last days without peace, dignity, and comfort.
