I have been a patient in 3 different critical care psych. facilities, including Windmoor. I highly recommend this facility! I received excellent inpatient & follow up care. No being over medicated, no simply sitting for hours with nothing to do. I was alert, and continually engaged in activities to better my condition. Food is well prepared, beds are comfortable, & smoking allowed at scheduled times.

I was recently at Windmoor. I feel as though I got good care there, and the food was excellent, BUT, the place is very cold,run-down and dirty. Our showers backed up on us, and by the time we finished our showers, the water was around our ankles. How gross is that???? The shower curtains are like stiff cardboard and you couldn't press them against the shower stall wall to avoid leakage. After you shower, the floor of the bathroom is all wet and dangerous. We never even got enough time to eat our meals. Most of us couldn't even begin to finish the good and nutritious meals they prepared for us. What's up with this place, eh???????
