Competent in his analysis of the condition as well as a clear way to begin treatment. He takes time to diagnose because he is listening to all the complaints and gathering test information for strategic approach.

My family doc referred me to Dr. Cohen for a nutritional IV to help with Adrenal Fatigue. I had to have an initial consultation (4 hours- $800) and about $700 worth of additional testing to confirm the hormonal issues( that I knew I was already having but didn't have on paper) before he would do the IV. The IV was not handled well; it was delivered too fast, my hand swelled and bruised, and had pain and limited use for over a week.
Dr, Cohen has more of an Eastern medicine bent, which I expected, but he seemed to see himself as more of a psychologist than a medical doctor. He put me on several homeopathic remedies, without explaining homeopathy or what the remedies were supposed to help. How would I know if they were working? He sent me home with one remedy "to hold"--I have called his office twice to find out what it is supposed to be for, so I will know if I need it, but they will not tell me. "The doctor will know if you need it when you speak to him," is what they tell me.
My saliva testing showed that my female hormones were low (which I already knew, and was already being treated.) Dr. Cohen decided to double my progesterone and add an estrogen cream, which had the effect of being on a super high dose birth control pill. It completely threw my hormones for a loop. My period was delayed 2 1/2 weeks, and when it finally started, I bled for over 2 weeks and became so anemic that I almost bled to death. I went to the ER with a hemoglobin level of 5.5 (life threatening), was transfused with 5 units of blood, and spent 5 days in the hospital. Two months later my cycles are not normal-right now I am bleeding heavily and may have to have an endometrial ablation to stop bleeding. My OB/GYN gave a diagnosis that basically means "medication incorrectly prescribed".
Bottom line: go see Dr. Cohen if you have enough money to jump through his office visit/ testing hoops so you can get some homeopathic remedies or an IV that might help you. But if he starts prescribing things that mess with your hormonal balance, PLEASE get a second opinion. I almost died because of his advice.
