I had long since had all mercury fillings removed. Dr Stephen preformed a root canal and placed the crown, it kept bothering me, turns out he placed a huge mercury filling under the crown, not composite which is typical especially since I paid extra for a no metal crown.

On Saturday January 25th 2014 I was at work and a problem tooth decided to be a real problem. I thought I could get through the pain but it was so bad I started to cry. I work at a finance company and it is just my boss and I there. The pain was so bad I had to leave work early which is unheard of in our company due to its strict policy of our mandatory hours weekly. I ran home in tears and looked up 24 hour dentist. I called a couple of places and they all sent me to a voicemail? :( I called Dr. Stephens and he personally answered. I explained my situation and he was not at all judgmental, he was actually really kind. I was impressed with how serious he took my pain. I expressed to him that I cannot miss any work due to me being a single mom and our strict attendance policy. He assured me that he would take care of me tonight and he even gave me a quote over the phone!.. As I am new to Salt Lake he even texted me an update of the time and the location sending me a map to use in my gps. I got to his office, filled out a form and he made me feel really comfortable in his ability to take care of my tooth. He assured me that he has taken care of thousands of emergency teeth and that it would be no problem. I was concerned that it was not numb enough and he didnt even get upset or question me like some dentists do, he simply numbed the rest of the surrounding area and I felt immediatly relieved that he really does care about me being in pain. He was able to extract the tooth with no problem and even though its a little embarressing, I am no longer in pain. He gave me pain killers and antibiotics and we were done in 1 hour. I felt so lucky to have found him. He pays personal attention to his clients personal needs. I was able to go to work the next day with no problem. I strongly recommend him to anyone who wants a dentist that is good at what he does and actually cares. He was honest, upfront and wanted to make sure that I knew I was in good hands. Today is Monday January 27th 2014 I just recieved a text from his assistant Patty checking up on me. WOW!. That is what you call Amazing Personal Service!
