I just cancelled all appointments and closed the books with American Dental in Palmdale, CA. A family situation arose that caused me to cancel several appointments during the week. I called at 1:30pm to reschedule my son’s dental appointment at 8am the following morning and because I was within 24hours they wanted to charge me a cancellation fee of $25. They were unwilling to forego their policy and said that it would be upheld for all patients. They were more worried about the $25 fee than they were about maintaining a relationship with their patient. Therefore, they lost four patients because of their ridiculous cancellation policy.
