Well, this review isn't on Dr. Alzohaili exactly... But since his name is on the door, I can assume he is in charge of the "and partners" portion of his practice.
I'm sad because after my first visit with Dr. A. I was very impressed with the level of care, and it seemed I might finally be able to get answers. I had my GP fax over all of my labs... Twice... But the office still seemed to not have them? No biggie, they called my lab and had some things faxed over... Not all, but some important labs.
Anyways, on my return appointment to discuss the new labs that were requested by his office, I did not see Dr. A.? As I was appointed to see? I was saw by Dr. K... BEFORE I met Dr. K. I heard him out at the desk speaking to his student Dr. About me. He was cracking jokes about how I am probably emotionally unstable {laughter ensues at his jokes}. He assumed this because my newest labs had some decent results. The first labs in almost a year that had decent results. He didnt even try to find out why they were decent? Maybe because I was being treated by my GP with medication that would make the labs more normal. Those meds will treat but not get to the root cause of my health problems. Dr. K. And his student came into the room to discuss the labs, and proceeded to tell me that all was good and he wasn't sure why I had any symptoms at all at this point... Really?! I had to point to the medication list I gave him, which he obviously didnt look at, to give him answers. I also had to MAKE him look at my previous labs to see that my levels (even recently) have been off. He then started back tracking and laughing off his mistake. He ridiculed all of the "fancy tests" I've had done! (These tests were ordered by Dr. A.) he skimmed over them... I actually had to ask him to tell me what they said. At one point, Dr. K. Was misstating the results on the blood work on the paper.. IN FRONT OF HIM... The student Dr. Had to keep correcting him. Dr. K. Then brushed off the student doctor, even though he was right.
After he left the office, I called the student Dr back in, I asked him if he agreed with Dr. K's assessment, he said he did. (I don't believe he agreed with him... Maybe he did, but I seriously got the impression that he was hesitant) I then called out the unprofessionalism that took place before the Dr. Had even met me or took a serious look at my extensive medical history. I even threatened to call and have payment from my insurance company cancelled for this appointment. I do not think I should pay to be ridiculed and mocked. I'm a sick person, above all.. I'm a damn PERSON! No one deserves to be treated this way. My husband was with me.. He even questioned the student Dr. Whether either of them were board certified... I thought that to be a terrible question right then. Terrible in that he was concerned enough to ask.

I hope that in the future, Dr. Alzohaili seriously considers in depth the people that he chooses to partner with... And I hope that the student Dr. Learns a lesson today, That you can't put people in a box. Maybe 80% of people need a good doctor, and can be put in that box, and you can make a good living off of that 80%, but if you truly care about your patients, being open minded about the other 20% that don't fit the mold and NEED an investigator, those 20% owe you their extreme gratitude for not brushing them off... THAT, my dear endocrinologist community, is what being a GREAT doctor is all about.

I'm going to go back at least one more time. But it's unlikely that I will be going back after that.

When I first went I was impressed with the Doctor. Then I went back for more testing and became less impressed with his office. Then when I called to get in to see him b/c I was having some health problems they told me I had to wait a month to see him. A month?? That is unacceptable! They also cancelled my husbands appts at the last minute twice and then never called back to reschedule. The straw that broke the camels back was that I had called the office and left a message and they called me back 10 DAYS LATER!!! I was shocked! I also wrote a letter to the office and handed it to them in person and when I explained why I was switching Dr's the woman at the desk didn't say one word to me. No apology, nothing!! It's so obvious they could care less.
