I heard a friend told me she got refused to be operated on. To my surprise, the refusal was due to the fact that she didn't take a sedation pill before the wisdom teeth removal surgery. But she told me, the first time, doctors actually thought it fine to have surgery without a sedation pill. But she was nervous about the general anaesthesia because she had never been put to sleep before. She was so nervous that the opertion was cancelled. However, before the next scheduled surgery, she actually already counquered her fear about general anaesthesia, because she got lots of counselling and read a lot about the anaesthesia knowledge. So she didn't take the sedation pill, and she was confident this time she would be fine. However, the doctor refused to operate on her. But sedation pill is not a necessary part of the surgery, and without it, no harm would be caused. My friend is a foreigner too. I feel it so shameful she didn't have a good impression about our medical service.
