This review is in concern of the Neurology office of doctors Bumgarten and Jervey from downtown Charleston, SC, 125 Doughty St, Suite 460. First off, they told us to arrive at 10:30 for a 11:15 appointment. Then upon arrival they told us that they changed the doctor we were going to see. No one called us to tell us that. Not such a big deal afterall. I initially made the appointment on 13April2012 for 2May2012. When they told us that the doctor was changed they said that it was changed on the 26Apr12. After filling the paperwork and paid the co-pay, we end up waiting for 1hr and 45 minutes. Another patient who had a 11:45 appointment gets called in the office at 11:30 in front of us, even though we had the 11:15 appointment with the same doctor. I have approached the front desk clerk asking why was that patient with a later appointment get called in before us. The lady at the desk, very offuscated, said "I am only running the front desk, i dont know" and then she told me to talk to another lady who she called. That person did not show up for another 5 minutes. When asked with the same question she started to blurb out some non-sense about the fact that the coputers make the appointments and that that patient was actually put in an earlier spot that just opened up, and that it is not their fault that the doctors spend more time with the patient than the appointment bracket. She told us that we will be seen immediately. 25minutes later we are still in the waiting area. At this time my wife and I decided that coming 45 minutes before the appointment time and then waiting another hour and still not beeing seen by the doctor is not the right place to be. We have requested our co-pay back and requested that our forms that we filled out are shreded. Miracullously the shreder just broke in that office and one of the nurses(or office clerks, whatever function she occupied) took the forms to another office. When I asked her to see them being shreded she said it is too late she already shreded them even though she told a minute before that she is goign to let me witness the shreding.
Another lady from the back office came and gave us a void receipt for the co-pay. and she said that it should show the credit back to the card later on the day. It is 6 hours later and the transaction has not been returned to my account. When we left not even one of the clerks we have dealt with during this whole ordeal showed any remorse or even appologize or a simple sorry, not even a good bye. None of them showed any interest in resolving the situation and try to win our confidence. I am telling you to run away from that office. From the attitude of the office clerks it seemed to me that even them did not enjoy working there.
