Now that I have visited them twice, I cannot call it a fluke. This is a very old-fashioned practice in a VERY OLD looking building. I am not sure why someone with terrible allergies or asthma would want to be treated in an office that may be potentially rich in mites and molds! That said, the medical advice I received was not much different from my primary care doctor. Out of curiosity, I sought a second opinion with another acclaimed local allergist and wow, what a stark difference in approach!..for a tech guy like me (who is always full of questions), that other Allergist was sharp, up-to-date and was able to line up all the problems and provide results that I had not seen here! Moral of the story - this office may be good for some basic things, but if you need a sharpshooter, choose your options wisely...

I received allergy shots from Dr. Huber for 3 years. After 3 years of shots, I got skin prick testing from a more reputable allergist because I suspected the shots weren't working. It turns out that after 3 years of shots, I was allergic to over 50 items, some allergies so bad that I was at a risk for anaphylactic shock this coming Spring. Not only did Huber's method of shots NOT work, my allergies got WORSE! My new allergist explained how allergy shots are done; it takes up to 6 months to reach maintenance dose, not 2 and a half years like what Huber did. My allergist confided in me that Huber used an outdated method that didn't work. Apparently he got a lot of Huber's old patients.

Also another annoying thing about Huber is that he DOESN'T prescribe antihistamines or nasal sprays. His cure for a sinus infection is to tell you to take Sudafed non stop. I took Sudafed for 2 months straight and went through mild withdrawal when I stopped taking it, thanks to him. If you have allergies that skin prick tests show you are at risk for anaphylactic shock, he will wait and see if you go into shock before giving you an epi-pen as a cautious measure.

Huber once told me I had a deviated septum, so I went to an ENT to get this surgically fixed so I wouldn't get so many sinus infections. The ENT said I DO NOT have a deviated septum, just my allergies are really bad. The ENT felt so bad for me that he prescribed me 2 nasal sprays. He asked who I saw for an allergist, and I said doctor Huber. The ENT shook his head and said that Huber should have prescribed me nasal sprays.

Two doctors in town...an ENT and another allergist told me in a polite, subtle way that Dr. Huber is a bad at his job. My skin prick tests prove this as well. Plus his patients who have received shots for years still come every Spring for a steroid shot to relieve their symptoms. This is NOT the doctor you want to see. The only reason he received good reviews is because personality-wise, Huber and his staff are very easy to like.
