CHIROPRACTIC TREATMENT FOR NECK PAIN

Neck pain can be a very debilitating type of pain that can affect your lifestyle. It is a commonly misunderstood type of pain that medical doctors treat with pain killers or muscle relaxers. While these treatments can give you temporary relief from the pain, they do not remove the cause of the pain. Therefore the pain can return because the factor causing the pain is still there. Neck pain can have a variety of causes. .These can include, but are not limited to:

Sleeping wrong, or on a strange pillow
Poor posture at work
Physical stress, such as a long drive or working under a car
Emotional stress, such as holidays or work deadlines
Physical injury, such a car accident or sports injury

It is obvious when you have neck pain, but neck problems can also cause a variety of other problems that you may not associate with your neck pain. Neck pain can cause a variety of symptoms because there is usually misalignment of the neck vertebrae (cervical subluxations), no matter what the initial cause of the neck pain. The original cause of these subluxations may be injury, muscles imbalances, poor posture, or chronic stress. Any of these problems will cause the vertebrae to misalign.
When the cervical vertebrae subluxate they can cause nerve interference in the cervical spinal nerves. These nerves go throughout the head and upper body and can cause a variety of symptoms. These symptoms may include:

Headaches
Numbness or tingling in the arms or hands
Ear infections
Allergies or colds
TMJ problems

No matter what has caused your neck pain, all you care about is getting rid of it. Drs. Jeffery Roistacher can pinpoint the cause of your neck pain, and treat you for it. After a thorough examination to determine the cause of your neck pain, they will begin a treatment program to alleviate the pain.

Chiropractic manipulation of the cervical subluxations will restore these vertebrae to their normal position, and remove the nerve interference. Once the vertebrae are properly aligned through chiropractic treatment, your chiropractor will work with you to eliminate any continuing stresses on the area. This may include work station changes, exercises to strengthen the muscles in the neck, or therapeutic massage to remove muscular tension.
