Who doesn't want to raise healthy kids and give them the best possible start in life? If you are a new mother you are probably beginning to make many new decisions. A very important decision is to decide what environment you want your baby to be raised in. Adequate nutrition is vital to keep your babies growth and health on track. Babies need more nutrients than adults because of their growing bodies. The best choice for your baby and the environment is to live consciously.
Take the plunge and begin pureeing all sorts of food! Simple Homemade Sweet Potato
Appropriate age group: 6 months or older
What you need:
1 medium organic sweet potato
What you do:
1. Wash and peel your sweet potato. Bring 2-3 cups of water to a boil and add the sweet potato. To preserve more of the nutrients you can steam over the pot of water. Allow to steam or boil until soft.
2. Puree the soft potato in a food processor until smooth. Let it cool and serve. The leftovers should not be left out, but put in the refrigerator or freezer right away. The food can be kept in the freezer for about 3 months

Please Note: The key to being safe while making your own baby food is to introduce only one new food at a time. This allows adequate time to assess for any allergies to the new food. Once you determined no allergies are present, you can mix the ingredients to make a wholesome meal.
