My therapeutic practice includes the use of humor and heart as well as education and intelligence, and a considerable amount of life experience. Laughter can be, and often needs to be, a part of healing. I believe that within each person lies the means to achieve healing and satisfaction--but many of us have gotten alienated from that still, small voice within that knows exactly what we need. Counseling can aid in turning down the external noise and removing blocks to accessing that inner knowledge and wisdom.
Hometown: Beaverton, OR United States
Occupation: Licensed Professional Counselor
Interests: My way of working is to take the time to learn about you and your life, then construct an individually tailored therapeutic program that addresses your unique personality and needs, always within a respectful and supportive therapeutic environment. However if challenging self-defeating patterns is necessary, firm, caring boundary setting is within my repertoire as well. I’m dedicated to ensuring that my clients get better, which may at times mean that some temporary discomfort is part of the process of change--like beginning an exercise program and getting sore muscles at first.
I am an experienced, Nationally Certified, State-Licensed Professional Counselor; I have a Masters degree in Counseling from Portland State University. Day, evening, or Saturday appointments are available, with my office in Beaverton near the Tanasbourne shopping area.
