When I was 40 I decided my retail career wasn't what I really wanted in life. After a lot of soul searching I felt being a counselor adn helping people would be much more rewarding. So I left The retail business and happend across an addiction counselor position in a suburb south of Chicago. There I ventured into taking a class at Governors stae University and 6 years later I had a masters degree in clinical counseling/psychology. I also felt I scraped one too many windows full of ice and me and my wife moved to Sunny Florida. At age 50 after hours of practicums, interships and two years of clinical supervison I recieved a License to Practice Mental Health Counseling In the state of Florida. Then that wasn't enough so in 2000 I ran and was elected Mayor of the Town of Briny Breezes. The Mayor was a volunteer office that I held for 6 years. One of my values is to give back to the communtiy. So today at age 60 I am really loving what I do and getting into private practice.
